Update: I’m very sad to report that Lesley Perkes, the creator of the Troyeville Bedtime Story described below, passed away on 13 February 2015. This is absolutely terrible news, but the good news is that Lesley’s legacy (and her bed) will live on forever.
300th Post: The Two Towers
I published my first blog post on 26 June 2010, six weeks before I moved to Joburg. I didn’t have a plan for 2Summers back then. Almost no one read my blog. I didn’t publicize it or put photos in it. I didn’t read other blogs so I had nothing to model mine after. I didn’t even know what my blog would be about. I did know, however, that I was embarking on an extraordinary journey. Birthday Card for Jon
Dear Jon,
I wanted to do something to recognize your birthday. You would have been 47 today.
Two years ago, on the Sunday before your birthday, you took me to the top of Northcliff Ridge at sunset. We gazed down on a sea of blooming jacarandas and watched the sun drop behind the ridge in a red-orange blaze of glory. That was a really happy day for us.
