The Melville Cat: I'm Back

From the Melville Cat:

In my previous post I told you that I was missing. Today, I came back.

I arrived early this morning and went straight to the sunbeams on the kitchen floor.

I didn’t come back on my own. Heather brought me back.

Pop-Up Burgers, Revisited

In August 2013 I stumbled upon a tiny pop-up burger joint on an unlikely street corner in downtown Johannesburg. The burger joint, BGR, was selling tasty burgers for the unlikely price of R10 (less than $1) or R27 for a burger/fries/drink combo. I wrote a blog post about it (read that post here).

The Melville Cat: I'm Missing

From the Melville Cat:

Well, this is awkward. It seems that I am missing.

I, of course, know exactly where I am. But Heather and Ray do not. I realize this doesn’t make much sense. But there you have it.

I Climbed Some Mountains on Reunion Island

Maybe this is an overstatement. Theoretically I was hiking, not mountain-climbing. But the pictures speak for themselves.

08-Dee-on-Mountain
This is Dee, balancing herself at the top of one of many mountains that we climbed up and then down again.

When I first received the invitation to participate in the #GoToReunion campaign, I wasn’t sure I could go. I had just booked my trip to the U.S. (where I am now), and it overlapped with the Reunion trip by several days.

Reflections of a Jet-lagged Woman Between Continents

Over the past month I have been to the following places:

Fall-leaves-2
Fall leaves in Washington. I arrived just in time.

Johannesburg is the one place where I haven’t been very much during the past month. As I’ve said many times before, I love traveling but I also hate being away from Joburg, especially for extended periods.
