As most of you know, I shoot the majority of my photos with a Canon DSLR. I’ve always shot with Canon, mainly because the two photographers who taught me everything I know – my dad and my late boyfriend Jon – used Canons and taught me to do the same. Their advice has never let me down.
Street Art in a Free State Township
I recently spent two days in Clarens – a quaint resort town in the mountains of the eastern Free State – as part of the MeetSouthAfrica local blogger trip. I’ve been to Clarens three or four times but never devoted an entire blog post to it, even though I think it’s one of the loveliest towns in South Africa (albeit a bit touristy). How (Not) to Jump Off a Stadium
The Commonwealth Games, an Olympics-like sporting competition involving athletes from the Commonwealth of Nations, are headed to Durban in 2022. The 2022 host city won’t be officially announced until September 2015, but it turns out that Durban is the only bidder. (Edmonton, Canada, initially submitted a bid but later withdrew it.) So…yay! It’s not 100% confirmed but the Commonwealth Games are most likely coming to Africa for the first time ever.

A few weeks ago I spent a fantastic weekend at the Grootbos Nature Reserve, a five-star lodge in the Overberg region of South Africa’s Western Cape. The Overberg, which comprises a stretch of coastline between Cape Town and the Garden Route, is one of the most beautiful places in South Africa.
